Day 1 – London/Mexico CityMidday departure from London Heathrow to Mexico City with British Airways. Arrival transfer to The Four Seasons Hotel for two nights.Day 2 – Mexico City
Morning visit to the ancient Aztec capital, including the Zocalo, National Palace and Templo Mayor. Afternoon visit to the pyramids at Teotihuacan.Day 3 – Mexico City/El Fuerte
Fly to Los Mochis, northwest of Mexico City. Transfer by road to the delightful town of El Fuerte in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Overnight at the Posada del Hidalgo, a charming old mansion, full of history and colonial flavour.Day 4 – El Fuerte/Cerocahui
An early wake-up call for the shared shuttle transfer to the station for the legendary Chihuahua-Pacifico train. The journey will take you from cactus and sagebrush to cedar and pine and from rolling foothills and flowing waterfalls to dramatic canyons and misty mountains. Arrive at Bahuichivo Station before midday. Shared van journey for half an hour on a bumpy road, to the traditional village of Cerocahui, founded by Jesuit missionaries in 1694. Overnight at the Hotel Mision.Day 5 – Cerocahui/Posada Barrancas
Morning trek or horse ride to the Cerocahui Waterfall, known locally as Hulcochi, which in the Tarahumara language means ‘place of many trees’. Just after midday, board the train to continue the journey higher up into the rugged Sierra Madre Mountains until reaching Posada Barrancas Station at 2200 metres above sea level and with incredible vistas of the surrounding area. Short ‘shuttle’ service to the Posada Barrancas Mirador Hotel, poised like an eagle’s nest on the edge of the canyon. Afternoon at leisure with options to enjoy a walk in the area, or visit the local Tarahumara Indians’ cave dwellings. Enjoy one night at the traditional hotel, affording excellent views of the canyon.Day 6 – Posada Barrancas/Chihuahua
Depart after breakfast on another last and spectacular journey out of the mountains, this time by road with a private driver. Pass the town of Creel and on to an old country home, Casa Doña Carolina for lunch. Afternoon arrival into Chihuahua. One night at the Hotel Westin Soberano.Day 7 – Chihuahua/Los Cabos
Early morning short tour of this interesting and little-explored town, before taking the flight to La Paz in Baja California. Well-known for its dramatic coastline and rugged interior, this striking peninsula offers many opportunities for spotting whales, dolphins, turtles and sea lions. Transfer to the exclusive Las Ventanas Rosewood Resort for four nights.Days 8 to 10 – Los Cabos
Relax and unwind at this beautiful hotel with its excellent spa, network of pools and excellent dining options.Day 11 – Los Cabos/London
