Day 1 - London/MoscowArrive in Moscow on your British Airways flight from London-Heathrow and transfer to the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski for the next three nights.Day 2 - Moscow
A full day of sightseeing with a private guide begins with a city tour and includes and St. Basil’s Cathedral. After lunch at leisure you will visit Moscow’s other great site, the Kremlin. Here you will visit the three cathedrals, the State Armoury and the dazzling exhibition of the State Diamond Fund. Day 3 - Moscow
A day at leisure with optional tours available. Enjoy a half day visit to the Tretyakov Gallery, housing the most important collection of Russian art in the world.Day 4 - Moscow/St Petersburg
Another day at leisure with optional tours available. Why not go shopping at Izamailovo handicraft market. Evening transfer to the train station for the overnight first class train to St Petersburg. Day 5 - St Petersburg
Arrive in the morning and transfer to the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 for the next four nights (early check-in available at a supplement). Day 6 - St Petersburg
A day at leisure with optional tours available. We suggest you travel into the countryside to Pushkin to visit the sparkling Catherine Palace, followed by lunch in a country restaurant with traditional folk entertainment. In the afternoon we recommend a visit to the Pavlovsk Great Palace, a gift of Catherine the Great to her son Paul.Day 7 - St Petersburg
A full day sightseeing with a private guide includes the Peter and Paul Fortress, St Isaac’s Cathedral with its gold dome and the Yusupov Palace where Rasputin was poisoned in December of 1916. In the afternoon visit the Hermitage Museum; the extensive collection at the Hermitage is comprised of three million pieces of artwork.Day 8 - St Petersburg
Optional excursions today include a visit to Petrodvorets, the great summer palace of Peter the Great. The Grand Cascade, a sequence of 37 gilded bronze sculptures, 64 fountains and 142 water jet, descends from beneath the Grand Palace to the Baltic Sea and is one of the largest fountain ensembles in the world. Enjoy an optional morning sightseeing tour to see Yusupov’s Palace, one of the most fascinating in the city. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your British Airways flight to London-Heathrow.
