Day 1 - London/NairobiDepart London-Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic for your overnight flight to Nairobi.Day 2 - Nairobi/Kigali
On arrival in Kigali from Nairobi you will be transferred to the Kigali Serena Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.Optional excursions available, depending on time of arrival.Day 3 - Kigali/Butare/Nyungwe Forest
After an early breakfast, drive south for a visit to the Royal Palace at Nyanza. Continue to the university town of Butare where you can visit the National Museum, known as one of the best ethnographic museums in East and Central Africa. After lunch you will continue to Nyungwe Forest where you will stay at Gisakura Guest House.Day 4 - Nyungwe Forest
A morning is spent tracking primates in the Nyungwe Forest. After lunch there will be an afternoon visit to a tea plantation. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House.Day 5 - Nyungwe Forest/Gisenyi
This morning you will be transferred to the lake shore town of Cyangugu for a scenic boat ride to Gisenyi, with lunch enroute in Kibuye. Dinner and overnight Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.Day 6 - Gisenyi/Kinigi
A very early start with a picnic breakfast enroute to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival at 0700hrs, you will be met by your tracker and guide who will take you in search of golden monkeys. After lunch at Mountain Gorilla’s Nest Hotel, enjoy a scenic drive to the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. Dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorilla’s Nest Hotel. Whilst accommodation here is basic, it is the perfect base for Rwandan gorilla tracking.Day 7 - Volcanoes National Park/Kigali
After an early breakfast you will start tracking for the mountain gorillas. Forming part of the Virunga Mountain Range, the Volcanoes National Park is home to half of the remaining 650 mountain gorillas in the area. Led by experienced trackers, you will make your way through the forest in search for one of the four habituated gorilla families of this region. Trekking can take anything between one and four hours and a maximum of one hour is spent with the gorillas. After tracking, you will be met by your driver for the transfer back to Kigali. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at the Kigali Serena Hotel.Day 8 - Kigali/Nairobi
Breakfast at the Kigali Serena Hotel. Depending on your departure time to Nairobi there may be chance to take some optional excursions in Kigali before taking your flight to Nairobi where you will overnight at the Norfolk Hotel.Day 9 - Nairobi/London
Depart Nairobi for your return flight home to London-Heathrow.
