Clipper OdysseyThe 118-passenger ‘Clipper Odyssey’ provides superior on-board comfort while sailing to remote and off-the-beaten-path destinations. A fleet of on-board Zodiac dinghies enables all passengers to explore and land anywhere nature or curiosity dictates. All of A&K’s Odyssey voyages are accompanied by destination experts and lecturers individually selected for each sailing, so that you know the stories behind all that you see. All staterooms have an ocean view, private well-appointed bathroom, sitting area with sofa, individual temperature controls, in-room music system and television. An INMARSAT telecommunications system permits email access. Public areas include a window-lined dining room featuring international cuisine, a lounge, library, gym, outdoor pool, hair salon and a well-stocked gift shop. An infirmary is staffed with an accredited physician on every voyage. On-board the ship all meals, drinks (except premium brand) and gratuities are included. South Seas Voyage ItineraryOn a voyage taking you further into the South Pacific, wake up to a different view each day. Beneath the surface of crystalline waters, explore colourful corals and marine life of all shapes and sizes. Above the waterline you will encounter legendary hospitality and endemic birdlife throughout the kingdoms, islands and atolls en route. 5 November – London/PapeeteDepart from London Heathrow for Papeete via Los Angeles. 6 November – Papeete, TahitiArrive early morning and transfer to the InterContinental Hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax. This evening, join your fellow travelers and A&K expedition team for a welcome dinner and reception. 7 November - Papeete/Embark Clipper OdysseyThis afternoon, board Clipper Odyssey and settle in for the first evening on board.8 November - Bora Bora, Society IslandsBora Bora is unsurpassed in its scenic beauty with its verdant double peaks and encircling lagoon. The surrounding barrier reef provides superb snorkelling and diving. 9 November - Mopelia, Society IslandsMopelia is home to red-footed boobies, brown noddies and fairy terns. We will tour the island, including a visit to the village and an ecologically-controlled stop at the bird colonies.10 November - Atiu, Cook IslandsEnjoy a local feast and tour of Atiu, including a traditional marae (sacred site) and Captain Cook’s landing site. Birders can seek the endemic Atiu swiftlet and Cook Island fruit-doves. There may also be diving and snorkelling opportunities. 11 November - Aitutaki, Cook IslandsThe 28-mile reef surrounding Aitutaki, forms a spectacular lagoon with a living coral garden. We will spend the day touring the island including a snorkelling stop at One-foot Island and a Polynesian barbecue lunch. Divers may also explore the underwater world.12 November - Palmerston Island, Cook IslandsVisit Palmerston Island, where according to custom there can be no strangers, so all visitors are made honorary family members. Palmerston is extremely isolated; in fact we could be the only guests to visit all year. Diving and snorkelling is possible along stunning reefs and a dramatic coral shelf.13 November - At Sea Today, our lecture series continues as we sail through the islands and atolls of the Tuamotu Ridge. 14 November - Niue Island, NiueOne of the world’s smallest countries, Niue is home to some of the finest limestone cliffs, crevices and chasms in the Pacific. Visit Avaiki and Palaha Caves, Limu Reef and the great series of stone arches in Matapa Chasm. Weave through flooded chasms on manoeuvrable Zodiacs to explore this unique geological system.16 November - Neiafu and Nuku Islands, Vava’u Group, Kingdom of TongaLose a day crossing the International Dateline. Clipper Odyssey will wind through the dozens of tiny wooded islets in the picturesque Vava’u group. We can snorkel from the beaches, take Zodiac excursions to sea-eroded caves and enjoy time in the village of Neiafu. Divers can explore a nearby cave system or pristine reef.17 November - Niuatoputapu, Kingdom of TongaNiuatoputapu boasts some of the finest beaches in the South Pacific. Enjoy snorkelling from the beach and anchored Zodiacs. Diving expeditions will be offered for certified divers. We can also visit the small town of Falehau on the north shore.18 November - At SeaToday, our fascinating lecture series continues on the cultures and natural history of the South Pacific as we spend a relaxing day at sea.19 November - Ono-i-Lau Island, Southern Lau Group, FijiExplore a village on the tiny island of Ono-i-Lau where the locals will welcome us with their legendary hospitality. Life here is both laidback and traditional. 20 November - Fulanga Island, Southern Lau Group, FijiThe islanders on beautiful Fulanga are renowned throughout Fiji for their exquisite carving skills, especially for their magnificent carved canoes. We may have the chance to see some of their handiwork during a visit to the local community.21 November - Koro Island and Savu Savu Bay, Vanua Levu Island, FijiVisit remote Koro Island and witness an entertaining turtle-calling ceremony performed by the indigenous islanders. Continue on to Savu Savu Bay on Vanua Levu Island, offering some of the most spectacular diving in the world. Snorkelling and glass-bottom boat tours are also available. 22 November - Lautoka and Nadi, Viti Levu Island, Fiji/London Disembark after breakfast on Fiji’s largest island, Viti Levu, and transfer to a resort day-room in Nadi by coach. Transfer to the airport early-evening for your flight to London Heathrow via Los Angeles, crossing the International Dateline and arriving the following day.The nature of expeditionary cruising means the captain may change the itinerary based on local conditions.
