Bordering the 4,168-acre Northwest Point Marine National Park, Amanyara’s name, derived from Sanskrit and the indigenous Arawak people, means “peaceful place”. This is reflected by the resort’s isolated position on top of a dramatic headland, dividing a pristine white sand beach on one side from the stunning Ironshore, with natural rock bridges and craggy bays, on the other. The resort sits in harmony with its environment, embracing the landscape and turquoise crystal waters of its oceanfront setting.
Accommodation
The 40 timber-shingled Pond and Ocean Pavilions and two Villas are identical in layout but differ in location and views. The pavilions are of contemporary design with a dramatic overhanging roofline that creates shaded outdoor areas on three terraces. Large glass doors can be opened on all sides to catch the cooling sea breezes. Rooms capture a tropical aesthetic incorporating a simple palette of colours and materials. They are furnished with a king-size bed, television with DVD player, living area, personal bar, air-conditioning and a bathroom with free-standing bath tub.
