Argentina with A&KArgentina inspires a torrent of dazzling prose from returning guests. You've told us about learning to make empanadas under an old walnut tree beneath the Andes: an afternoon with penguins rather than humans on Valdes Peninsula followed by divine lemon meringue pie with a local family: and of galloping across the Iberá wetlands to enjoy a sundowner amongst its prolific birdlife.
We can't promise every guide has such an entertaining second string but we're certain they know their country inside out and will happily provide unforgettable and authentic experiences. They're part of our exceptional team, renowned for it creative itineraries - tango classes with the famous Elsa Maria y Mayoral and spectacular drives in vintage cars - the best vehicle fleet around and seamless travel links to South American countries.
On every occasion A&K's outstanding local staff enhanced your experience. Never more so than in Buenos Aires when our group's supper was plunged into darkness by a power cut. The guide's reaction? To serenade her guests with an aria from La Traviatta, earning a standing ovation from the restaurant. It later emerged she's also a soprano who has performed in many of the city's best theatres.
Take a holiday to Argentina with Abercrombie & Kent and we'll show you incredible landscapes, warm hospitality and a sophisticated capital, all with a dash of European flair. Buzzing Buenos Aires boasts neighbourhoods including historic San Telmo and fashioniable Palermo. Head west across the pampas to Mendoza for superb vineyards, many with extraordinary architecture beneath the vertiginous wall of the Andes, while the north offers Salta's mesmerizing rock formations and the Iguazú Falls, kissing the lush Brazilian border with up to 300 cascades. And it's equally spectacular in the deep south where Patagonia mixes mountains and lakes with showstoppers including toothpaste blue Perito Moreno Glacier.
Travel to Argentina with A&K in 2014 and we'll garnish a wilderness destination with remarkable luxury flourishes. Just ask our amazed guests who enjoyed a private gourmet picnic on the vast Patagonian Steppe. Their al fresco feast was interrupted by a classical violinist emerging from behind a rock to play a haunting melody. Desert Island discs has nothing on that.
