Why we like it

  • This property has six rooms and three cottages set in the grounds
  • Rincon del Socorro is located on a 12,000 hectare former cattle ranch that sits on the edge of the Ibera wetlands - a vast region and an exciting nature reserve
  • The hotel offers fine organic cuisine and hosts traditional Argentine barbeques in the 'quincho'
  • An unheated outdoor pool is set amongst ancient trees, with views of the open grasslands
  • Other facilities and activities include a screened barbecue house, nature tours and walks, boat and canoe trips, horse-riding, bird-watching, cattle round-ups and fly-fishing

A&K Top Tip

Take the time to study the old maps of the surrounding area, intricate detailed drawings allow you to study the topography and rivers surrounding the falls.

Guest Testimonial

The Hotels you (Charlie Lockwood) selected were superb in Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, what a pleasure it has been to stay in the Belmond Hotels, everyone was so helpful, and the Four Seasons in Buenos Aires was equally superb

- TW, London

Rincon del Socorro is a former main ranch house, which has been transformed into a small, refined eco-lodge surrounded by Ibera's untouched flora and fauna. The main house has six rooms and there are three bungalows nearby, all with private bathrooms.

The rooms and cottages are all similarly styled. Décor is largely in chocolate and cream, whilst original checkerboard tile floors have been preserved. The rooms are furnished with pieces crafted from local wood, either reclaimed and restored, or specially created to match the overall feel of the lodge. Super-comfortable beds are dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets, weighty duvets and soft blankets. Some rooms have a sitting room at the rear, where comfortable white sofas make them the perfect spot for reading. The bathrooms have an antique feel, with reclaimed sinks and toilets setting the tone.

Throughout the lodge, the walls are hung with with wildlife prints and old maps. Overall, Rincon del Socorro feels welcoming, stylish and relaxing, and has a touch of the old colonial about it.
