Family Adventure in Far North Queensland

Day 1 - Cairns
On arrival you will be met by your A&K guide and transferred to Shangri-La for your two night stay. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore and obtain an overview of the local lifestyle. Perhaps visit the Botanical Gardens, the local art gallery or take the children to Cairns Tropical Zoo.

Day 2 - Cairns
Meet your A&K guide and transfer to Freshwater Station. Travel by Scenic Rail to Kuranda as you wind through rugged rainforest and majestic waterfalls. Kuranda is beautiful, brimming with tropical plants and hanging baskets. Return by the Skyrail cable car, running 7km over the rainforest canopy and down into Cairns. You will then visit the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, an educational and interactive experience showcasing the culture of the indigenous people of this area.

Day 3 - Cairns/Port Douglas
After breakfast, collect your vehicle and drive along the Coral Sea coastline to Hartley's Crocodile Farm, en route to Port Douglas. Arrive in Port Douglas and settle into the Sea Temple for a four night stay.

Day 4 - Port Douglas
This morning, transfer to Marina Mirage for your cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef. Sunbathe, snorkel, dive or relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Day 5 - Port Douglas
Meet your A&K guide and commence a half day sightseeing tour including an Aboriginal guided walk at Cooya Beach. Join Yaba Yabaju of the Kuku Yalanji people, the traditional owners of the land, for an interactive cultural experience.  Gather food, throw spears and experience traditional hunting.

Day 6 - Port Douglas
Today is at leisure to explore the area. You may want to head further north and explore Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the beach.

Day 7 - Cairns
Drop off your vehicle before your onward journey.
