THE HOTEL
The Henry Jones Art Hotel is located on Hobart's waterfront and is Australia's first dedicated art hotel. Once a jam factory, and dating back to 1804, the original building has been transformed into an enthralling first class hotel - designed by award-winning architects, Morris-Nunn & Associates.
The hotel is furnished with over 300 artworks and creates an environment in which people can experience art in a new and more immediate way - with a continuously changing exhibition, the hotel is a wonderful fusion of art, heritage, tradition and nature.
The hotel houses 56 rooms and suites, all unique and furnished with contemporary art. In stark contrast with the art, the rooms are wonderfully modern. Clean lines and contemporary touches abound, whilst most are equipped with lavish king or queen size beds accompanied by exotic silk covers, European style stainless steel and translucent glass bathrooms, and magnificent sandstone walls.
All year round; many parts of the country are perfect, even in the middle of the year. The climate ranges from tropical (Darwin) to semi-desert (Alice Springs), humid temperate (Brisbane and Sydney), cool temperate (Melbourne and Hobart) and Mediterranean (Perth and Adelaide).
