Days 1-2 UK/Sydney
Board your overnight flight to Sydney.

Day 3-5 Sydney
Welcome to the world’s most good-looking city. Sydney has it all: sunshine, beaches, iconic sights and a palpable buzz. You’ll be transported right into the action – the stylish Four Seasons, in the historic Rocks district, overlooks Sydney’s harbour, perfectly placed for an afternoon stroll after a long flight. With a further two full days here, there’s plenty of time to explore. A private guide will help you uncover Sydney’s natural and man-made attractions; you can even get acquainted with Australia’s unique wildlife on a behind-the-scenes tour at Taronga Zoo. Of course, you can’t leave without hitting the water – a harbour cruise is the best way to appreciate the city, especially if there are opportunities to jump in for a swim, kayak along the shoreline, catch your own fish, or simply sit back with a chilled Australian white and take it all in.

Day 6 Sydney/Uluru
A short flight swaps blue seas for rugged Red Centre, and the marvellous monolith of Uluru. Longitude 131°, a small scatter of luxury safari-style tents on the edge of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, provides uninterrupted views to the Rock – spend your first night watching the sunset send the desert into a rhapsody of red.

Day 7 Uluru
It’s worth rising early here, to see the sun rise over Uluru while a guide recounts the myths and legends of the indigenous people. Indeed, the bush has many secrets, and a guided walking tour will reveal more about this place and its residents: its dynamic ecology, its medicinal plants, its hardy animals and birds – and how the local Anangu track them. These days, finding food is not so tough: opt for Longitude 131°’s exclusive dinner in the desert, an indulgence of Australian dishes served under a canopy of stars; afterwards, join the resident astronomer to learn the tales of the southern night sky.

Day 8 Uluru/Port Douglas
Getting to Port Douglas is part of the fun. Following a flight to Cairns, it’s a short drive along a spectacular stretch of Coral Sea coast to reach the pretty village, which is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage-listed rainforest coast – a riot of vivid green and turquoise blue. The Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort is the ideal base, sitting right on dazzling Four Mile Beach.

Days 11-12 Port Douglas
And relax. Spend a few days exploring this unique environment at your own pace. You could browse the boutiques of Port Douglas, bike or horse-ride amid the Great Dividing Range, pull on a snorkel and flippers or simply loll on the warm, white sands.
