Day 1 - Launceston
Arrive in Launceston and collect your rental car and continue to Peppers Seaport for an overnight stay. This afternoon be met and transferred to a remote dinner location where you will be introduced to your own 'Bush Chef' and treated to a Tasmanian game experience. Enjoy regional cool climate wine in the natural surrounds. After dinner, go in search of the 'bandit of the bush', the eastern quoll, noted for its daring raids on local farms. These entertaining bush creatures will delight you. Other species you may also encounter are possums, wombats, kangaroos, wallaby, bettong, Tasmanian Devil and other species.
Day 2 - Launceston/Cradle Mountain
This morning drive through Deloraine and Westbury on the way to Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. On arrival at your hotel for the night at Cradle Mountain Lodge, relax or head out on a self-guided walk around Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake.
Day 3 - Cradle Mountain/Strahan
Drive through the lakes district to the old mining town of Tullah. Stop en route at Rosebery where you embark on a rewarding walk along the railway embankment with spectacular views of Tasmania's tallest waterfall (104m) Montezuma Falls. Continue onto Strahan Village for a two night stay.
Day 4 - Strahan
Today enjoy a guided discovery of the miner history, the Huon piners and the haunting majesty of this rarely explored World Heritage area. Travel by four-wheel drive along the West Coast Wilderness railway track through the ancient rainforest, while listening to the inspiring tales of the 'miners and piners' from more than 100 years ago. Journey to Kelly Basin and Bird River and take pleasure in a walk through the rainforests of this area. Enjoy lunch at the historic mining town of Pillinger and participate in one of the many activities on offer before gliding back along through Macquarie Harbour on a luxury cruise boat to Strahan.
Day 5 - Strahan/Tarraleah
Continue your travels passing through the historic mining town of Queenstown and making your way through the World Heritage area to the town of Tarraleah. Stop en route at the shores of Lake St. Clair and then continue over the Derwent Bridge to The Lodge at Tarraleah for two nights.
Day 6 - Tarraleah
Today the choice is yours. Optional activities at Tarraleah include fly fishing, hiking, massage and spa treatments, guided kayaking, evening wildlife spotting, golf, feeding highland cattle or your chance to soak in a private hot tub.
Day 7 - Tarraleah/Hobart
Depart Tarraleah and drive to the beautiful Mt. Field National Park, home to renowned Russell Falls. Continue to Maydena, locally named the 'Valley Of The Giants', where you will see the awe inspiring world's tallest hardwoods that tower up to 95 metres above the ground. Afterwards, continue onto Hobart Airport and drop off your vehicle before your flight home.
