Why we like it

  • All the cabañas have wrap-around verandas with hammocks
  • Chan Chich is set in 250,000 acres of protected reserve, which is home to an abundance of exotic flora and fauna
  • The lodge has an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by lush forest
  • Other facilities and activities include a bar, gift shop and reading room, jungle treks, bird-watching, vehicle tours, horse riding and canoeing

A&K Top Tip

Using fresh produce grown locally (seasonally dependent), Chan Chich offers a balance of both traditional Belizean meals and exceptional international cuisine.

Guest Testimonial

I would just like to add that the help / service we received from Melissa Hookway was oustanding. It was very personal and I was made to felt like a valued client.

Chan Chich is all about the beauty of the nature that surrounds it. Meaning 'little bird' in Mayan, the area boasts an enviable avifauna and offers the opportunity to see mammals such as curassow and even jaguar.

The lodge itself is a rare combination of true wilderness and admirable comfort. Just 12 thatched cabañas, fully screened and beautifully finished with local hard woods, surround the plaza of an ancient Mayan city. Standard cabanas have two queen beds, whilst the deluxe cabanas are comprised of one king bed or two queen beds with a spacious luxury bathroom, walk-in closet and mini-bar.

The star of the show is the Villa. Situated at the south-east corner of the plaza bordering the jungle, it has two bedrooms, both with king beds, two outdoor living areas - one screened with a private Jacuzzi and outdoor shower - and a large living room complete with bar. This is truly magnificent accommodation - perfect for a family, or friends traveling, and comes with a golf cart for guests' personal use.
