Paro
Best time to be there
Bhutan offers warm days and cool nights all year round. October and November are arguably the best months, when the monsoon has passed and the skies are clear for mountain photography. The spring months of March, April and May are best for the flora, but it can be stormy as the monsoon builds up for July-September.

Set within the tranquil and dramatic Paro valley, Paro town is characterised by ornate 3-storey farmhouses and beautiful forests of blue pine, set against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Perched precariously on the cliff edge, the remarkable Tiger's Nest Monastery, is a highlight. The monastery's renovated complex is a wonderful example of Bhutanese craftsmanship.
