This is a simple style hotel set in a prime location, looking out over the white expanse of the Salar de Uyuni (Salt Flats). It is the perfect place from which to set out by jeep to explore this unique landscape and explore the white salt flat and islands covered in giant cacti. The Hotel Luna Salada is constructed almost entirely of solid rock salt including the bedframes, walls, floor and even the sofas, adorned with colourful locally woven textiles. All of its rooms have private modern bathrooms and views out to the Salar.

weather
In a country as geographically diverse as Bolivia, local weather patterns vary greatly, however for most people the climate is generally cooler than they expect. In the highlands, the dry season is between May and October. In La Paz and Sucre, temperatures during the day are a pleasant 20º C. Uyuni and Potosi however, can be cold in the middle of the day, and temperatures drop below freezing at night. The Amazon average daytime temperature is 30-32º C with tropical rains on a daily basis (which increase in the wet season), while nights can cool down to 20º C.
