The best time to travel is between March and November, rain fall is at a minimum and the days are cooler but clear. Early mornings and evenings can be chilly. The Delta is normally in flood from May until August.

The Chobe National Park and Linyanti Game Reserves lie to the north-east of the Okavango Delta and include a diversity of habitat - such as marshes, waterways, riverine forests, dry woodlands and the world-famous Savute Channel. It is an area that is rightly famous for its predators and large concentrations of game, particularly elephant with herds reaching up to five hundred in size.
Notwithstanding the elephants, Chobe National Park has some of the finest game viewing on any Botswana safari holiday. It is noted for its herds of buffalo and zebra, of lechwe, of Chobe bushbuck and also puku. It is also rich in birdlife with two resident favourites being Pel's Fishing Owl and the African Skimmer.
Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero and Savute Elephant Camp are among a few fantastic camps and lodges in Chobe that are certainly not to be missed.
