Why we like it

  • Jacana Camp is located in the beautiful and remote area of the Jao Flats in the Okavango Delta
  • A small camp with five Meru-style tents with an en-suite roofless shower
  • As Jacana is a true water camp activities are mokoro safaris and boat trips year round and game drives between October and April depending on the seasons flood levels
  •  Jacana camp combines well with any of the other camps that offer more land activities to give a complete Botswana experience

A&K Top Tip

Enjoy a sleep out in the hide at Jacana, listening to the night noises of the African bush and watching out for the nocturnal species is a phenomenal safari experience.

Guest Testimonial

We had the most wonderful guides throughout our trip. They were incredibly knowledgeable, patient and humble. A Trip of a Lifetime. We were sorry to come home.

- JS, Hertfordshire

Jacana Camp consists of five Meru-style tents built on raised wooden decks overlooking the panoramic views of the Okavango Delta. Each tent is classically designed and has an enclosed en-suite bathroom featuring a roofless shower .The main area of the camp is on an elevated platform between two magnificent sycamore fig trees, and consist of a lounge and comfortable seating area and a plunge pool overlooking the floodplains.

Jacana Camp is set in one of the most densely populated wetland areas for sitatunga and red lechwe. All the big animals can be found regularly in the area: including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. It is important to note that wildlife concentrations within this part of the Okavango Delta depend on the water flow and volume and change from season to season.
