Why we like it

  • Tubu Tree is located in the heart of the Okavango Delta on the isolated Hunda Island in the Jao concession
  • A small traditionally designed camp with 5 tents on raised wooden platforms
  • Activities on offer are day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and during the flood season (normally May - September) boating, fishing and mokoro trips
  • Tubu Tree is the perfect choice of camp for exploring different habitats ensuring varied and spectacular game viewing

A&K Top Tip

Sitting by the unique outdoor bar underneath the enormous marula tree watching the sunset over the floodplains was spectacular and the perfect way to end a day out in the African bush.

Guest Testimonial

Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday with A&K. There was a fascinating mix of location and camp styles and the particular sequence worked very well for us.

Tubu Tree camp is a classically designed safari camp offering the perfect place to explore the Okavango Delta. The accommodation may be simple in design but has all the comforts needed including an en suite bathroom, outdoor shower and a private deck overlooking the floodplains. The main area of the camp consists of a main dining and lounge area, there is also a small pool to cool off by in the heat of the day.

Tubu Tree Camp is surrounded by the palatable grasses and narrow water channels which lure many species of plains game including the elusive sitatunga. A range of diverse habitats, ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld to mopane and riverine forest on the edge of permanent waterways, also ensures diverse and spectacular game viewing. Other animals that you are likely to see are elephant, lion, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains.
