One of the most colourful countries in the world...India is a constant blur of vibrant sites, people and history. An assault to the senses, it's a destination which captivates visitors of all ages.

Start this exciting trip with a visit to the bustling capital city Delhi. Experience the historical streets of Old Delhi, exploring the city's many bazaars, markets and temples on a rickshaw. Perhaps you'd like to visit one of A&K's philanthropy projects, Deepalaya School, where you can sit in on a lesson and see what teaching is like halfway around the world.

After your time in Delhi, head to Agra, and check into a room overlooking the majestic Taj Mahal. This stunning monument took 22 years to complete with 22,000 workmen involved in the construction -a visit to India wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Taj. After the bustle of the city, it's time to chill in the hotel pool or spend some time with a local family and learn the art of creating the perfect curry.

Time to head to Ranthambore for a stay at the Oberoi Vanyavilas, and an opportunity to hang out with a couple of long term residents. Spend some time with elephants Mala and Lamxi -they love a little help with their daily bathing routine, but be prepared to get wet … very wet! Spend the rest of your time in the area visiting local villages to see how communities live in rural Rajasthan, or exploring the national parks that were the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book, looking for tigers and sloth bears.

After your messy outdoor adventures scrub up and discover the art of mehndi. The ancient traditional art of painting your hands and arms is usually reserved for weddings and festivals, but in this case it is to celebrate your time in India!

Jaipur is known for the spectacular Amber Fort, but also for its famous annual kite festival in January. Get in on the excitement by making your own traditional Indian kite. Then take it to the private helipad of your hotel and hone your kite flying skills with the expert guidance of a kite pilot, whilst learning about this world famous annual event. For more of a culture hit, tour around the Pink City and the many museums, learning its secrets from your expert guide.
