Brazil, 13 Nights

Day 1 - London/Rio de Janeiro
Depart London Heathrow for your day time flight to Rio de Janiero. Arrive Rio and transfer to the opulent Orient Express Copacabana Palace Hotel for three nights.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro
Morning at leisure. Enjoy an afternoons tour and cable car ride to Sugar Loaf Mountain, offering a spectacular vista across the azure waters of Rio's Guanabara Bay. Rio is a city of incredible contrasts, from the forested mountains to the golden beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana; the wealthy suburbs to the poorest favelas, and the pulsating nightlife to the wonderful museums.

Days 3 - Rio de Janeiro
Early morning visit to Corcovado Mountain, Christ the Redeemer statue and the Tijuca Forest, the world's largest urban rainforest. Ample time remains to explore the beaches and museums of this wonderful, vibrant city, famous for its sense of rhythm and fun. We can also easily arrange an evening visit to a samba bar or a 'footvolley' lesson on the beach should you wish.

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro/Iguaçu
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy Iguaçu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to one of the world's largest and most impressive waterfalls, extending over some 2,700 metres. From the Brazilian side, walk beside the thundering cascades and brave the pontoon extending into the base of the 'Devil's Throat'. Two nights at the Orient Express Hotel Das Cataratas.

Day 5 - Iguaçu
Morning tour across the border to visit the Argentine side of the falls at Iguazu. Take the Rainforest Ecological Train from which, there are numerous walkways designed to take you to the very top of the falls and experience their might from above. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 6 - Iguaçu/Pantanal
Morning flight, via Sao Paulo, to Cuiaba in the heart of Brazil's northern Pantanal, a vast and luxuriant wetland area with an abundance of wildlife. Here, cattle breeding co-exists with a wonderful natural reserve. Pousada Rio Mutum is an ideal base from where to explore the area as it sits beside the Mutum River which gradually merges in two large lakes, surrounded by rolling hills and grassy plains.

Days 7 and 8 - Pantanal
Enjoy two full days exploring this wonderful region. Look out for caiman, capybara (world's largest rodent), blue macaws, anaconda and even jaguar can make a rare appearance. Tours at are fully guided by local guides, last for approximately 2-3 hours and are all run as group excursions. Excursions by horse are one of the best ways to explore the Pantanal as it allows visitors to discover the flooded areas, inaccessible by boat or vehicle. Other excursions include a boat trip down the Rio Mutum stopping to do some piranha fishing, feeding the local caiman and enjoying a very early morning canoe ride to observe the beauty of the area and birdlife at dawn.

Day 9 - Pantanal/Salvador da Bahia
Transfer by road to the airport for the flight, via Sao Paulo or Brasilia, to Salvador da Bahia on the Atlantic coast. Transfer into the city centre for one night at Convento do Carmo.

Day 10 - Salvador da Bahia/Kiaroa
Morning tour of Salvador da Bahia, one of Brazil's most historical and vibrant cities thanks to the African influence throughout. Tour Pelourinho, a UNESCO World Heritage site containing a wealth of colonial architecture from colourful façades to impressive churches. Afternoon transfer to Salvador Airport to catch a shared light aircraft flight to the exclusive resort of Kiaroa. Set amongst 240,000 square metres of beautiful environmentally protected Atlantic forest on the Maraú Peninsula, Kiaroa is an eco resort offering luxurious accommodation whilst blending with their natural surroundings. Days 11 to 13 - Kiaroa
Settle in to the gentle pace of this remote part of Brazil's coastline, relaxing on the beach, swimming in the cool waters, or enjoying the excellent choice of activities on offer.

Day 14 - Salvador da Bahia/London
Transfer by plane to Salvador Airport for the onward flight to Rio de Janeiro, where you will connect with the British Airways flight to London. Arrive day 15.
