The Hotels you (Charlie Lockwood) selected were superb in Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, what a pleasure it has been to stay in the Belmond Hotels, everyone was so helpful, and the Four Seasons in Buenos Aires was equally superb

Porto Bay Rio Internacional has an unrivalled location looking out onto Copacabana beach, close to the bustling nightlife and fabulous shopping of Rio. The roof top pool and bar is an exceptional spot and ideal place to soak up the sun as well as having commanding views of the golden beaches. The accommodation comprises of superior and deluxe rooms and suites, all rooms and suites are light and airy, most have a balcony and all offer the modern conveniences expected. All rooms have complimentary WIFI. Facilities at the hotel include a state of the art fitness gym with panoramic views of the beach and there is a sauna and relaxation room. The two bars are outstanding places to relax sample a "caipirinha", soak in the atmosphere or enjoy some dancing in bar Limone. Porto Bay Rio is a great value option from which to explore Rio with a team of staff that really looks after their guests to ensure the most memorable of stays.
Best time to be there
Before you visit Brazil decide what you want to see: Brazil is a continental country, with large temperature variations from north to south. Visit the Pantanal from July to December, the Amazon Jungle from March to August, Rio de Janeiro from September to May and the Northeast year round.
