Sofitel Rio de Janeiro
Why we like it
- Great location at the end of the world famous Copacabana
- Blends the best of Brazilian culture with French savoir-faire
- Reputed as one of Brazil's most prestigious hotels
- Le Pré Catalan is well known as Rio's favourite French restaurant
- Sip champagne with beach views at the African style Horse's Neck bar
The mini tasting menu of wines and Caipirinhas at the Horse's Neck bar are always a good bet.
Melissa very quickly worked out our likes and dislikes and came up with the perfect itinerary for us. She had maximized the tour in the short time to include as much as possible without making it an ordeal!

Within walking distance of the city's leading attractions and just a short stroll from Ipanema beach, the hotel is the perfect base from which to explore. Sofitel Rio de Janeiro is among the few beachfront hotels with balconies in all of its 388 rooms and several of these enjoy panoramic ocean views. While away your days relaxing by the pool, cocktail in hand, and fine dining on traditional French cuisine at Le Pré Catalan or on international fare at Restaurant Atlantis. Near to the hotel you will find many restaurants, shops and cultural attractions. The wellness centre with Hammam, sauna and solarium offers a welcome retreat after an evening experiencing Rio's vibrant nightlife.
