Known as the city of four million pagodas, Bagan (or Pagan as it used to be called) is the cradle of Burmese civilisation, the first capital of the once mighty Bumar kingdom. Although Bagan's early history is shrouded in mystery, chronicles recount that the city grew out of 19 villages.
Enjoy the sunrise over Bagan from aboard a hot air balloon. Get a magnificent "bird's eye" view of the thousand-year-old pagodas, temples and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River to fully appreciate the scale and historical importance of this magical place.
Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday with A&K. There was a fascinating mix of location and camp styles and the particular sequence worked very well for us.
