Guest Testimonial

We loved the way A&K presented their documentation in the travel wallet and the lux' luggage tags looked the business. The "Small touches" count! Every one likes to feel special from time to time and we certainly were made to feel as such by all at A&K.Thank you Vicky Smith

Sanctuary Ananda will take you on the most incredible journey through this fascinating country, experience the serenity and beauty of life on the river. She was custom built for the Myanmar rivers by local shipbuilders using age-old knowledge and traditional materials while incorporating the most modern technology. She has a shallow draft so that she can navigate both the Upper and Lower Ayeyarwady and Chindwin Rivers. The design of the ship is elegant and contemporary with a fusion of the traditional Burmese handicrafts with local fabrics, wood and lacquerware adorn each suite. Sanctuary Ananda sails every day on each itinerary, offering plenty of time to combine the 'must see sights' with smaller villages to meet the indigenous peoples and see local crafts being made first hand. Myanmar (Burma) Map

Best time to be there

Myanmar (Burma) has three clear seasons: from March to May are the very hot summer months, the wet and humid monsoon runs from May to October and the cold dry winter lasts from November to February. The best time of year to visit is late November early December when the rains have gone, the landscape is lush and green and the skies are crystal clear. However any time from late November to March is a good time to travel.
