Highlights:
  • Small group expedition with maximum group size of 15 people
  • View polar bears in their natural habitat of the Canadian Far North
  • Explore the arctic tundra by helicopter and dog sled
  • Meet the native people of Hudson Bay

Day 1 - London/Winnipeg
Depart London for your flight to Winnipeg.

Day 2 - Winnipeg/Churchill
Fly to Churchill and explore this remote community before heading to the tundra for an evening with the bears. In late autumn the polar bears gather at the edge of the Hudson Bay where they wait for the ice to solidify so they may begin the winter seal-hunting season.

Day 3 - Polar Bear Viewing
Spend a full day with the bears. From the safety of the 'Polar Rover' vehicles, that are custom built for the tundra, you may be fortunate to watch the bears hunt, play and interact. Whilst the vehicles can take 35 guests, numbers are limited to a maximum of 15, ensuring that everyone gets a window seat. At the rear of the vehicle there is an open-air viewing platform. The expedition leaders know the best places to view the bears and will explain their behaviour.

Day 4 - Helicopter flightseeing and dog sledding
Take to the skies above the tundra by helicopter. From the air, you may be fortunate to see bears, caribou and Arctic fox. Back on the ground, you will try a more traditional mode of transportation; dog sledding. Learn about the life of a musher, visit the dogs before joining them on an excursion across the ice. If the skies are clear, there may even be chance to see the Northern Lights.

Day 5 - Polar Bear Viewing
Take another ½ day excursion, looking for the polar bears before spending time learning about the local native culture. The locals will share their experiences of life in the harsh Arctic environment. A visit will also be made to the Eskimo Museum.

Day 6 - Churchill/Winnipeg
Return to Winnipeg by air, where you will spend the night.

Day 7 - Winnipeg/London
Depart Winnipeg for your flight back to London.

Pricing
