Day 1 UK / Vancouver
With its buzzing Chinatown, large university and vibrant arts and restaurant scene, Vancouver is the cosmopolitan hub of western Canada –and the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel is ideally placed as a base for exploring the BC capital's delights. Watch floatplanes land in the harbour from your window, hop between the bars and shops of Gastown, or take a stroll among the gardens, totem poles and beaches of leafy Stanley Park.
Fairmont Pacific Rim | Meals: Room Only

Day 2 Vancouver / Siwash Lake Ranch
Watch the landscape transform swiftly from city to wide open country on a short flight to either Kamloops or Williams Lake for your transfer to Siwash Lake Ranch, an exclusive adventure hideaway in the heart of British Columbia's cowboy country. Yes, you guessed it from the name: horse riding is the focus –meet your steed, carefully matched to your experience, ability and personality, for three days of epic exploration.
Siwash Lake Ranch | Meals: Full board including most activities

Days 3 – 5 Siwash Lake Ranch
The big question is: which way to steer your mount? Siwash sits pretty in 80,000 acres of pristine British Columbia wilderness, an enticing patchwork of grasslands, forests, lakes and rivers to roam. With experienced horsefolk on hand to settle you into the saddle, head out with a guide or alone to get to know both the vast range and your horse. Learn about the day-to-day running of the ranch –get hands-on, if that's your thing –or discover more facets of this spectacular landscape with kayaking, paddleboarding or hiking excursions. There's plenty of time for getting back to nature, too –take a swim in a pristine lake, cast a fly to fish for wild trout, or just relax on the deck and gaze over the sparkling lake.
Siwash Lake Ranch | Meals: Full board including most activities

Day 6 Siwash Lake Guest Ranch / Vancouver
Return to Vancouver for another day of discovery –perhaps admire the creative best of British Columbia at the Vancouver Art Gallery, pop into a Chinatown restaurant for a dim sum lunch and sample some of the fabulous craft beers brewed in the city.
Fairmont Pacific Rim | Meals: Room Only

Day 7 Vancouver / Sonora Resort
Admire the sweeping views from a thrilling helicopter journey to Sonora Resort, nestling into the coast of a beautiful island backed by rugged wooded hills and facing the pristine waters of the Johnstone Strait between Vancouver Island and mainland BC. Explore the resort's hiking and biking trails, take a tip in the pool or simply gaze out at the panoramic views from the deck –watch for band eagles and seals –before tucking in to a gourmet dinner with your hosts.
Sonora Resort | Meals: Full board including some activities (bear viewing payable extra)

Day 8 Sonora Resort
Get out on the water around this gorgeous Relais &Chateaux resort to witness some of the region's most charismatic wildlife. Join an eco-boat tour to spot huge Steller's sea lions, white-sided dolphins and, in summer, pods of killer whales that cruise the Johnstone Strait, and look out for humpback, grey and minke whales. Back on land, from late August grizzly bears congregate on the pebbly banks of the Orford River to feast on spawning salmon –join a Homalco First Nations guide to watch these mighty creatures flipping fish from the gushing waters. Alternatively, walk among 800-year-old cedars, paddle a kayak on the emerald waters of Surge Narrows Marine Park, cast a fly for trout or salmon, or access remote trails with a spot of heli-hiking.
Sonora Resort | Meals: Full board including some activities (bear viewing payable extra)

Day 9 Sonora Resort / Vancouver / UK
Hard as it is to tear yourself away from British Columbia's coastal wilderness, at least there's one final floatplane or helicopter ride to savour on your flight back to Vancouver to connect onto your return flight to London.
