Central America punches well beyond its size in that there is so much packed into this isthmus that connects North with South America. A biodiversity hotspot that is approximately twice the size of the UK, the landscape of Central America is strikingly beautiful and varied from smouldering volcanoes to tropical rainforest, from stunning lakes, such as Atilan, to exquisite inlets and islands.

There is far more to Mexico than Riviera Maya and the beaches. Aztec, Mayan and Oltec sights vie for attention, whilst the jungles in the south and the whale watching in Baja California are amongst the best in the world. So too the Monarch Butterflies in February/March or hiking the Copper Canyon, a region which is seven times the size of the Grand Canyon.

Guatemala has everything from ruins to rainforests and colonial churches to Indian markets. Belize is renowned for the second largest barrier reef in the world and Costa Rica is famed for its natural beauty where you may see nesting turtles or the dazzling quetzal in the cloud forests.
