  • Unwind amongst the towering volcanoes, picture postcard villages and leafy forests of Chile's Lake District.
  • Trip off to the mysterious island of Chiloé and spend a day listening to the tales of the story-laden locals before dining on fresh oysters.
  • Hit up not one but two capital cities, letting the charm of Santiago and Buenos Aires seduce you.
  • Channel your inner explorer and take to the icy waters of the 'uttermost ends of the earth' on a spectacular three-day cruise.

Day 1 UK / Santiago
Make the most of your South American adventure by flying over night to Santiago, Chile's Andes hugging capital.

Day 2 Santiago
Santiago is a dizzying mix of European cultures, Andean vibes and mesmerising mountain views. It's trendy neighbourhoods, which according to the New York Times are pushing the cities 'style revolution', beg to be explored on foot. Take a day to wander the wide boulevards, gaze up at the imposing architecture and get lost in some of the best museums and galleries which South America has to offer, all at your own lazy Latin pace.

Day 3 Santiago
Sip your morning coffee with our fabulous local guide who will explain the history of one of the continents most attractive and interesting cities. Spending a morning with them you will uncover some of the true gems, and local cafés, of this arty and cosmopolitan hub including the delightful Barrio Concha y Toro neighbourhood, with its charming plaza and pretty Colonial architecture. For us cities are a window into the soul of a country and Chile's rich cultural heritage comes to life through her iconic symbols, heading up the history lesson is the Palacio de La Moneda, originally the colonial mint known for the military coup in 1973 that brought the former dictator, Pinochet, to power.

Day 4 Santiago / Lake District
You will feel as if you have flown to another world today where forest filled National Parks drape across the land and deep clear lakes reflect the snowcapped volcanoes in the sun.
In Puerto Montt you can soak up the town's lakeside vibe, chat to the fishermen whilst moseying round the fish market and learn about handicrafts from the local women. You'll bed down in the even prettier Puerto Varas with glimmering views over the lake to the famous Osorno volcano, the 'King of the South'. Relaxing here curl up with the volcano views and read about the myths of the Mapuchi Indians who play a strong part in the regions culture which you will spend the next days uncovering.
Cumbres Puerto Varas | Meals: Breakfast

Day 5 Day Trip to Chiloé
Isla Grande de Chiloé really does feel like the Southern most tip of the world. It is a magical wonderland where you can feel the people's belief in its ancient superstitions still lingering. It's green and rolling landscape circled by the Pacific is dotted with pretty colourful fishing villages and wonderful stilt houses. Chat to the islanders on your day trip today, as it is they who make this place so addictively unique - feast on fresh oysters and learn of their traditions and mysterious tales.
Cumbres Puerto Varas | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 6 Lake District
The Lake District is famed for it's leafy forests, glittering waterfalls and picturesque towns, where iconic Andes peaks wink down from crystal clear skies - you need today to take it all in! Your pretty alpine style town of Puerto Varas is a great base to explore the surrounding area, stroll round the lakes, hike a volcano, visit the monkey puzzle forests, or simply sail across marvellous Lake Llanquihueon.
Cumbres Puerto Varas | Meals: Breakfast

Day 7 - 10 Punta Arenas / Ushuaia
For three breath-taking days you will channel your inner explorer and cruise the icy fjords and waters of the 'uttermost ends of the earth' navigating the celebrated Beagle Chanel on a truly spectacular journey which takes you all the way to Argentina. Embarking on your great adventure you will revel in the stories of the pioneering explorers who slowly sailed these waters watching fires burning on the Patagonian lands they snaked through - fires lit by the indigenous Indians, giving name to 'Tierra del Fuego' or 'Land of fire'
Rise from your superbly snug cabin to get up close and personal with Magellanic penguins, sea lions and astonishing birdlife. Peek at beautiful snow-capped mountains before gazing at seemingly unending sunsets reflected in the ice. Hop on small zodiacs to traverse the more unexplored and hard to reach islets and gulp in lungfuls of Patagonian air before returning to sumptuous dinners on board.
During this mighty adventure you will spot the Marinelli Glacier as you sail towards Tuckers Island and navigate along the Beagle Channel towards Pia Glacier. You will be in a photographer's heaven as you have a chance to hike to a spectacular Glacier lookout point before sailing through the marvellously majestic 'Glacier Alley' viewing this dramatic landscape from the deck.
Step ashore at Cape Horn National Park where you will visit the historic Wulaia Bay, site of an indigenous Yamana settlement, then walk in the footsteps of Charles Darwin who landed here in 1833 during his famous voyage on the HMS Beagle. It's mesmerising beauty still inspires and as you take a walk through the enchanting Magellan Forest of lengas, coigües and canelos we defy you not to have your notebook out!

Colourful balconied barrios, wide tree lined boulevards flanked by magnificent architectural gems, quaint neighbourhoods chock a block full of romantic restaurants and passionate tango shows popping up in the most unexpected places.
The Porteños have an unstoppable charm and a deserved love for their city. Both glamorously European and headily Latin American. You'll have to come back but today pick a highlight and enjoy –whether it's a trip to a nearby estancia to try your hand at polo and feast on a local asado (BBQ), a private wine tasting in one of the grand houses of Recoleta, or simply pottering through the sprawling antiques market in San Telmo or the chic designer shops in Recoleta. For your last night the city invites you to dine on an enormous steak before watching dresses swirl and limbs twirl at the cities iconic Tango Show at Esquina Carlos Gardel.
