THE HOTEL
W's first foray into South America has seen the creation of a stunning high-rise hotel set against a snow-capped Andean backdrop. The hotel brings W's philosophy of 'an urban retreat and sweet escape' to the bustle of Santiago's skyscrapers, vibrant colonial cobblestone streets and excellent nightlife.
Inside, the design is original, quirky and fun. Colours are bright and brash but not over the top. The rooms are well-equipped examples of superb interior design by Tony Chi and Sergio Echeverria. Inspired by the magnificent beauty of Chilean nature and landscape, they have used diverse colours, materials and textures - including velvet, leather, mirrors and floor to ceiling windows - to create sumptuous, super-chic spaces.
All 196 rooms and suites feature the signature W Bed, fully-wired technology, the delightful Munchie Box and state-of-the-art entertainment.
As the climate varies hugely from north to south, different places are best at different times, although spring (September to December) is universally good. Atacama can be visited year-round, central Chile enjoys a Mediterranean climate with good weather throughout. Patagonia is best for hiking in Spring or Summer.
