THE HOTEL
Set in a stunning 1920s building in the heart of Shanghai's prime shopping area, JIA is a design-led masterpiece of urban chic. Taking its name from the Mandarin for 'home', this stylish hotel combines comfort and luxury to strike the perfect balance between a home and a hotel.
All the rooms are superb studies in style. Reminiscent of upscale city apartments, they are packed with one-off furniture pieces and wonderful modern artworks. Décor combines pure whites to highlight sheer, clean lines, and muted earth tones to create an understated sense of sophistication. Meanwhile washed oak flooring and fabric wall paneling add warmth and individuality to each room. Finally, all feature fully equipped kitchenette/kitchen facilities and Bisazza-tiled bathrooms.
Our consultant (Annie Jensen) really was excellent designing a great itinery minimising our time waiting around for transfers and both hotels, Four Seasons Bali and Oberoi Lombok exceeded our expections.
