THE VESSEL
Elegant and stylish, the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer is perfect for relaxed cruising through spectacular and ever-changing landscapes.
Carrying just 124 passengers, compared to the 300 plus accommodated on other cruise ships, the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer offers the finest and most personalised service on the river - in fact the vessel carries one member of staff for every guest on board.
Effortlessly stylish, the cabins are huge, and all have floor to ceiling windows to afford wonderful views of one of the most spectacular waterways on earth. The vessel also carries a staff of experienced, knowledgeable guides, enabling guests to join on shore excursions to learn about the river's history and ecology.
Accommodation
The Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer's complement is limited to 124 passengers, allowing her staterooms to set a new standard in spaciousness and elegance, from a roomy Deluxe Cabin to the palatial, exclusive suites.
The Explorer's 62 air-conditioned cabins, including 24 suites, all have balconies, panoramic windows and private bathrooms. Each is equipped with a shower, hairdryer, satellite television with in-house movies, a CD player, direct dial international telephone and mini bar.
Our favourite are the four stunning Speciality Suites - the 732 square foot Jade and Mandarin Suites and 829 square foot Celestial and Imperial Suites - which are beautifully furnished and the largest available anywhere on the Yangzi River.
While there are differences in the climate according to the region in China, it is best to travel in Spring and Autumn when the weather is not too hot nor freezing cold. But we also pay attention to festival periods and special occasions.
