Day 1 London / San José
Fly up and away to land in San José. Located in Costa Rica's Central Valley this is a great hub to start your eco-adventure. With some excellent museums, a wonderful Botanical Garden and lots of delightful coffee shops, there is plenty to entertain.

Days 2-3 San José / Tortuguero
Time to head to Tortuguero. The name gives it away, Tortuguero literally meaning ‘turtle place’ is where Green Sea, Leatherback and Hawsbill turtles all come to nest and breed in an enticingly wild national park bordering the Caribbean coast, only accessible by boat or plane. You’ll be able to traverse its shady freshwater creeks and lagoons on the hunt for numerous wildlife local to the area.

Days 4 Tortuguero / Arenal
After breakfast, board a boat headed for Guapiles from where you’ll be driven to Arenal. On the way, stop off for a private visit to Frog’s Heaven, a tropical garden home to over 20 species of exotic amphibians, along with some excellent birdlife. That evening check in to the mystical Tabacon Hot Springs Resort.

Days 5 Arenal
This morning you’ll have the opportunity to complete the impressive Sky Walk; a series of suspension bridges set up amongst the treetops allowing for a spectacular view of the forest canopy from above. That afternoon, enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle 2 ½ hour hike along the base of this impressive volcano.

Day 6 Arenal
Challenge yourself today with a half-day rafting lesson at the foot of Arenal Volcano. With plenty of wildlife to see like monkeys, sloths and tropical birds such as ospreys, oropendolas and toucans, this unique river trip is the best way to combine adventure and nature.

Day 7 Arenal / Monteverde
The holy grail for eco tourists, Monteverde is a cool, misty reserve nestled between two of the world’s most important cloud forests. Sail away across Lake Arenal to a land of blazing butterflies and a monochrome of green. An afternoon’s hike through the park will allow you to see the variety of flora and fauna that grows here.

Day 8 Monteverde
Today’s private Sugar Mill Typical Tour is a Costa Rican family business where you can enjoy a short walk through the farm to catch a glimpse of the various plantations. You’ll witness the entire process of coffee making, ride a Costa Rican ox cart and observe the process of making liquor out of sugar cane.

Day 9 Monteverde / Rio Perdido
Today you’ll be taken by private transfer to Rio Perdido; a hotel situated on a 600 acre reserve of rare dwarf forest and rocky canyon lands, just south of the imposing Miravalles Volcano. Rio Perdido is the unique centrepiece of the private reserve, as it’s the setting for Guanacaste's largest network of hot water, mineral springs of which you’ll have the next two days to explore.

Day 10 Rio Perdido
Why not try White Water Tubing? Absorb the feel of the canyon from the most beloved means of river transportation, the inner-tube. You could also embark on Rio Perdido’s Canyon Adventure. While Costa Rica has dozens of “canopy tours,” with hundreds of zip-lines, this hotel has created a sequence that will please and surprise at every turn.

Day 11 - 14 Tamarindo
Saying goodbye to the swarthy jungle-clad hills and misty volcano peaks, head to Tamarindo, one of the most popular beach destinations in Costa Rica with its friendly locals, a buzzing sundowner scene and some top-notch beachside retreats. You’ll have a chance to show off your surfing skills or head off on a canoe around to Tamarindo National Wildlife Refuge.

Day 15 Tamarindo / San José
Soak up the last of your beach side treats this morning, before catching your flight to San Jose to interconnect with your international. Back to the UK buzzing with Costa Rica’s ‘Pura Vida’ vibes.
