Istria

Istria is situated on the North-West coast of Croatia, an emerald sea of pine woods, oak and strawberry trees, with 35 % of the land being covered in forest.

The rich cultural and historical past is full of the flavours of Italy, which can be seen throughout the region in the food, language and archaeology. Visit the Roman amphitheatre at Pula, or spend the afternoon wandering around the hilltop village of Groznjan before exploring the mosaics in Porec's ancient basillica. Rovinji has wonderful narrow medieval streets, and a protected beautiful coastline to explore, whilst more Roman ruins can be found in Dvigrad.
