Pre Cruise Day 1-2 UK/Santiago, Chile
Start your adventure with an overnight flight to Santiago. Upon arrival a member of the A&K team will meet you and transfer you to The Singular Santiago for an overnight stay. Then the time is yours to spend exploring this bustling metropolis of six million people sitting in the shadow of the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Chile’s sprawling capital is made up of several neighbourhoods and it is easy to get your bearings. Head to Centro for Santiago’s historic heart, with the arty enclave of Bellas Artes and the Spanish colonial buildings of the Civic Quarter. Barriors Brasil, Bellavista and Lastarria are the places for lively nightlife.
The Singular Santiago | Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 Valparaiso, Chile/Embarkation
Today a member of the A&K team will transfer you to the port at Valparaiso, approximately a 90-minute drive away. It is Chile’s oldest city, and before the era of the Panama Canal, it was also South America’s busiest port. Valparaiso boasts dramatic topography with 45 rolling hills. Their slopes are dotted with colourful houses, many of which are covered with corrugated metal that was peeled off shipping containers many decades ago.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Dinner

Day 4 Day at Sea
Spend today cruising southwards to Puerto Montt.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 Puerto Montt, Chile
As you step ashore in this port town, you won’t be able to escape the Germanic ambience that arrived with the first German immigrants who brought their customs and culture with them in the late 19th century. One of the best selling points of this windy city are its bountiful natural surroundings as it sits as the gateway to Chile’s beautiful Lake District with its snow-topped volcanoes and alpine valleys. This is a place to embrace outdoor adventures, from white-water rafting to canopy tours and kayaking.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6 Puerto Chacabuco, Chile
Today’s stop brings you to the isolated outer reaches of Patagonia where this remote port is the jumping off point to some of the most unspoilt and underdeveloped terrain of this region. Cascading waterfalls, winding rivers, deep valleys and untouched beaches are its hallmarks and the route to the nearest towns of Aysen and Coyhaique takes you through this beautiful landscape. The latter town is the hub of this region. Set between the mountains, it is the springboard for a string of adventurous activities into the rugged hinterland.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7 Laguna San Rafael, Chile
Even before reaching the Laguna San Rafael National Park, there is magnificent scenery as you cruise through the fjords, estuaries and waterways leading to it. This vast wilderness encompasses the entire Northern Patagonian ice fields and houses the tallest peak in the Southern Andes, Mount San Valentín which towers at more than 13,300ft. Fields of ice cover the mountain’s slopes and surrounding hills, giving birth to 13 glaciers of which the most famous is the Mount San Valentín glacier. As you get closer, you can hear the ice creaking and groaning and periodically, large blocks will calve from the glacier, crashing into the waters below.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Days 7-8 Cruising the Chilean Fjords
Spend the next two days cruising through the spectacular landscape of the Chilean Fjords. Few places on earth can match this spectacular terrain where chiselled, jagged landscapes fill the sky, and whales, seals and dolphins dive through these fertile waters.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 9 Punta Arenas, Chile
It bills itself as the southernmost city on the planet so it’s not surprising that Punta Arenas has the feel of a frontier town. With a population of 150,000, it sits on the Strait of Magellan and is the gateway to Chilean Patagonia and its impenetrable forests, impassable mountains, and endless fields of ice. This region was largely unexplored until the start of the 20th century and the area outside Punta Arenas is still sparsely inhabited. Nature-lovers should look out for wildlife treats here, notably colonies of elephants seals and penguins.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10-11 Cruise Beagle Channel & Glacier Avenue, Chile
Spend today cruising the Beagle Channel and Glacier Avenue, a strait that runs through the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago which stretches into Chile and Argentina. As you head to the tip of South America and towards the end of the world, admire the majestic mountainous landscape of the Beagle Channel, reputedly one of the most beautiful water passageways on the planet. It takes its name from the boat that explorer Charles Darwin used when he sailed this route on his 1831 world voyage.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 12 Ushuaia, Argentina
Proud of its status as the town at the end of the earth, Ushuaia is the last stop before the South Pole, some 600 miles away across Drake Passage. Pronounced as oo-swy-ah (Argentines don't pronounce the ‘h’), it is the capital and tourism base for Tierra del Fuego, and enjoys a location of dramatic beauty with a backdrop of snow-topped mountain peaks. Ushuaia started life as a penal colony and its old jail is a popular tourist attraction. However, the original population of Yamana Indians all perished by the start of the 20th century.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 13 Day at Sea
Spend today relaxing on board as you cruise northwards to the Falkland Islands.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 14 Stanley, Falklands Islands
For British guests, stepping ashore in Stanley will have a familiar flavour of home. The capital of the Falkland Islands is more reminiscent of an old-fashioned British village, complete with traditional red phone boxes, corner shops and, of course, some good old British-style pubs. Most of the 2,500 residents live in the capital, while the wild, windswept countryside is similar to the Yorkshire moors, apart from the signs warning of minefields. The waters around these islands brim with marine life with whales and seals in abundance, but the Falklands are known for the thousands of penguins with Gentoo, Magellanic and more elusive King penguins found here.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Days 15-16 Days at Sea
Spend the next two days relaxing on board as we cruise northwards to Uruguay.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 17 Montevideo, Uruguay
This cosmopolitan capital brims with a mix of European culture and Latin flair. As Uruguay’s only real metropolis, it may lack the hectic vibe of some other South American cities, but Montevideo has its fair share of colonial architecture, clustered in the historical old town, close to the main and modern Independence Square. There is the exclusive beach suburb of Carrasco, along with the shopping malls and high-rises of Punta Carretas and Pocitos. Atmospheric tango bars contrast with modern nightclubs and slick restaurants spread along its coastal promenade overlooking its fine beaches.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 18 Punta del Este, Uruguay
This jet-set resort is clearly for the beautiful people. Full of glitz and glamour, it is a cross between the French Riviera and Miami Beach, with shades of Monte Carlo thrown in. This is a place for chilling out on the golden sands, browsing in designer boutiques and dining expensively in style. But besides these sybaritic treats, Punta del Este offers cultural diversions too, with an open-air art collection and renowned Hand sculpture at Brava Beach, plus a collection of surrealist and contemporary art at the Ralli Museum. Alternatively head to one of the working ranches where you can become a gaucho for the day.
Silver Spirit | Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 19 Buenos Aires, Argentina / Disembarkation
This Argentine hotspot is full of Latin vibe and famous as the tango capital of the world. Known as the Paris of South America, due to its expansive boulevards, it is also famed for its steakhouses, museums and wine. The main historic and cultural highlights are located within a compact and walkable area. Cultural attractions include the National Museum of Fine Arts; the pink palace in Plaza de Mayo from where Argentina’s legendary leader Eva Peron addressed the crowds; the Recoleta Cemetery, where she is buried; plus the Museo Evita, dedicated to her life. After you disembark, Abercrombie & Kent will transfer you to your final hotel for a night of relaxation.
