THE HOTEL
The Fairmont Towers offers a luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of Cairo. The huge glass atrium, complete with palms, bars, restaurants, shops and, of course, air-conditioning, is the focal point of the hotel - it is a relaxed, light and airy space.
This hotel is practically bursting at the seams with facilities so, if you want to take time away from downtown Cairo, you won't be short of things to do.
The complementary one-way shuttle service to the souk or Egyptian Museum is available daily at 9.00am. Alternatively, if shopping is your thing, take the twice-daily shuttle to City Stars, the largest mall in Cairo.
Winter (October to April) for cultural trips, although May to September is great for the Red Sea. Ramadan is a particularly exciting time to be in Egypt - it is celebrated here with more exuberance than anywhere else in the world.
