THE HOTEL
The Mena House Oberoi is one of the most unique hotels in Cairo, with its own rich and colourful history. Originally a hunting lodge, the hotel has played host to Kings, Emperors and Heads of State. Such illustrious history is reflected in luxurious interiors embellished with handcrafted furniture, original work of arts and magnificent antiques.
Regarded as one of the leading luxury hotels in Cairo, the Mena House Oberoi is surrounded by lush gardens and, standing just 700 metres from the Great Pyramids of Giza, provides unrivalled views.
We recommend a Mena Garden Wing room with a Pyramids view. The view at sunset and sunrise from the large balcony is simply breathtaking.
Winter (October to April) for cultural trips, although May to September is great for the Red Sea. Ramadan is a particularly exciting time to be in Egypt - it is celebrated here with more exuberance than anywhere else in the world.
