For me, nothing could be done better! I have never felt safer, more cared for and especially being a woman travelling alone for the first time, more looked after, by everyone from A & K I was in touch with.

The Winter Palace was built in 1886, within a tropical garden on the banks of the Nile. The hotel has a central location, just minutes from the Luxor Temple. The age of the building gives it a magical atmosphere, whilst modern decor creates a comfortable feel. Stay in the historic main buildings, which are packed with colonial charm in the form of fine woods and materials. There are 86 rooms and 6 suites, which range in size and in terms of facilities. Many of the rooms have a view of either the garden or Nile. The hotel has three restaurants: 1886 fine dining restaurant, L'Oasis by the swimming pool and La Corniche, serving international cuisine and breakfast.
Best time to be there
Winter (October to April) for cultural trips, although May to September is great for the Red Sea. Ramadan is a particularly exciting time to be in Egypt - it is celebrated here with more exuberance than anywhere else in the world.
Cairo, Luxor (British Airways, Egypt Air); Sharm el Sheikh (British from Sep 2015, Easyjet); Hurghada (Easyjet)
