A&K Top Tip

We think the excursion into the Sahara Desert is a breath-taking experience - even if you've visited desert locations before; swim in surprisingly cool lakes hidden amongst the vast expanse of dunes, then watch the desert turn red as the sun sets.

Guest Testimonial

My guide, Alaa Elgghazaly, could never not do anything that exceeded my expectations. He knows exactly what he is doing, and he knows exactly what I might like or not like, and consequently, matches the plans to that. I cannot recommend him highly enough, as a wonderful person, and guide who is so knowledgeable, he sometimes takes my breath away.

- CB, London

Fashioned from traditional materials - salt, timber from palm trees and baked mud inlaid with stone, almost as if it has grown organically from the rich oasis earth - this hotel has to be seen to be believed.

The Adrere Amellal sits nestled beneath the White Mountain and offers the most complete escape imaginable - not just from daily routine, but from the world as we know it. In keeping with the eco theme, there are no telephones and no electricity - instead the place is lit with the warm, flattering light of beeswax candles and the starry desert sky. This hotel is a genuine retreat and more - a stay here is truly unforgettable.
