Famous for Santa Claus, Nokia and saunas, Finns consider themselves a bit mad in a positive sense of the word: they enjoy sitting in a heated box and, upon reaching boiling point, running outside and rolling in the snow.

Home to the Sami where legend and tradition reigns strong in the way of life and the animistic beliefs of the Arctic tribe who are Europe's only indigenous people. The reindeer is an icon of Lapland, and they outnumber people in the province. In the summer, reindeer head to the fells and graze in the wilderness.

Rovaniemi Ranua is home to the most northerly of all the Christmas markets and Santa Claus so winter is the best time to visit the capital of Lapland on the Arctic circle.

The region around Ruka, Kuusamo and Posio is a new adventure every time. This is a region of abundant wildlife, outstanding nature and unique gourmet experiences.

There are more exotic adventures on offer than you can shake a stick at. In the summer, the Arctic taiga basks in the rays of the Midnight Sun for as long as two months. Plants and berries strive towards bloom and the sun smiles whole-heartedly at the rugged wilderness it completely ignores in the winter. Try your hand at round-the clock salmon fishing or golf.

In the winter, 'kaamos' or the polar night, wraps Lapland in a veil of darkness and an eerie, yet comfortably peaceful stillness prevails. Wintertime is the realm of husky dog adventures in the fell highlands of Lapland, unique glass igloo accommodation in which to marvel at the Northern Lights. Sámi myth says they come about when the fox runs over the fells and whirls the snow with its tail, sending sparks up the heavens. Enjoy winter driving with rally cars and snowmobile safaris. Try your hand at ice-golf on the frozen rivers and ice swimming.

Children can enjoy a private meeting with Santa Claus, enrol in Elf School that teaches you the secrets of how to become a real elf, Santa Claus helper, elegant Ice Princess, private troll school, ski school with private teacher or a world champion, Arctic snowlands with sledging hills and so much more…

Our on the ground team can organise some of the most wonderful experiences in Finland whether it is VIP box for ice hockey games a backstage tour at the opera, a private cruise on a rare steamship, watching a rally competition with the World Champion, a spectator-friendly snowmobile competition, a fireworks display planned exclusively for you, the night of your life in an ice or glass igloo.
