  • Make your own scent at a Perfumer's Apprentice workshop in Grasse, fragrance capital of the world
  • Dive into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean at the chic Rivera resort of Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat

Day 1 UK / Paris
Begin your French adventure with a smooth journey to Paris on the Eurostar from the UK. Settle into your hotel, Le Meurice, ideally placed opposite the Jardins des Tuileries between the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe.
Le Meurice

Days 2 - 3 Paris
Cycling around the enchanting city of lights is a great way to take in many of its famous sights. Trace the bank of the Seine and cross to the Left Bank to find Napoleon's Tomb and the nearby Musee D'Orsay – kids, look out for the huge polar bear! Then it's back to ogle the glass pyramid of the Louvre, the slender obelisk in Place de la Concorde – known as Cleopatra's Needle, like its sibling in London – and the broad Champs-Elysées, famed as the finish line for the Tour de France. Once you're pedalled out, relax in Le Meurice - perhaps enjoying a family spa with special facials and massages for smaller guests or don your detective hats for a scavenger hunt through the Louvre, a fun way to learn about the museum's history and greatest masterpieces.

Day 4 Notre Dame / Pompidou Centre

Today you will climb the towers of Notre Dame in the footsteps of its most famous literary denizen, the hunchback Quasimodo, and drink in the panoramic views across Paris – as well as enjoying a close-up look at the grotesque gargoyles watching down from up high. Safely back on terra firma, there's time for an ice cream stop before you head to the Centre Pompidou. Though Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers' colourful inside-out building is a work of art itself, and home to the National Museum of Modern Art, it's the Galerie des Enfants (Children's Gallery) that will delight younger visitors with its changing exhibitions and hands-on workshops designed to introduce ideas of modern art.
Le Meurice | Meals: Breakfast

Day 5 Paris / Côte d'Azur

Hop aboard the speedy Train Grande Vitesse (TGV) for the five and a half hour journey south to the glittering Côte d'Azur and your seaside retreat on the peninsula of Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat. Relax in your sumptuous room or on the terrace overlooking the turquoise Mediterranean; if you're feeling energetic there's a selection of watersports available, buckets and spades are on hand for budding sandcastle builders, and ping-pong tables beckon for a family tournament.
Hotel Royal Riviera | Meals: Breakfast

Days 6 – 8 Nice / Monaco / Grasse
It's a short hop west to Nice, where you'll browse the famous flower market in the morning before heading inland to Grasse, perfume capital of the world. Fragrances have been blended here for three centuries, and you'll have the chance to pick ingredients and create your own scent, as well as enjoying views from the town's hilltop perch across fields of lavender, jasmine and orange blossom. Back at the coast, a mere stone's throw from your hotel, visit Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild – a faux Italianate palace packed with collections of art and porcelain. Listen out for the musical fountains in the ornately styled gardens. To round off your sojourn on the Riviera in classic style, spend a day in the nearby principality of Monaco – but bypass the casinos to find the Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium: children love the Touch Tank, where you can stroke a sea urchin or even a baby shark.
Hotel Royal Riviera | Meals: Breakfast

Day 9 Monaco / UK
Today it's time to tear yourself away from the sparkling waters of the Med for the drive to Nice Airport and your flight back to the UK.
Meals: Breakfast
