- The hotel has an excellent, private sandy beach, complete with watersports centre. We could barely tear ourselves away from the big beds adorned with white cotton drapes, which are available for hire on the hotel's private beach
- We recommend the deluxe rooms at the front of the hotel or, for more space, a superior room with partial sea view
THE HOTEL
The palatial Intercontinental Carlton Cannes stands as a monument to a golden age of European architecture. From the moment you enter the lobby area, the combination of classical styles with unmistakable chic is striking - and the theme continues throughout the hotel.
Located close to the Cannes Palais des Festivals, the Carlton is a great base for exploration - the Old Town, nearby shopping on Rue d'Antibes or La Croisette and the mysterious Lérins Islands, which is easily accessible as a day trip.
For something different, book one of the 10 new suites located on the 7th floor, each named after, and decorated in the style of, famous film stars and guests have a special key for the lift.
Our consultant (Annie Jensen) really was excellent designing a great itinery minimising our time waiting around for transfers and both hotels, Four Seasons Bali and Oberoi Lombok exceeded our expections.
