THE HOTEL
This hotel has a truly magical feel, a mixture of the medieval and modern within the citadel walls. Redolent with the history of the region, it is truly a unique property.
As befits a hotel of such character, each of the 47 guestrooms and 14 suites at Hôtel de la Cité are individually furnished and decorated with more than a dash of aristocratic verve. Varying in shape, layout and interior, several have balconies and terraces allowing spectacular views of Carcassonne, while others overlook the charming cobbled streets of the citadel.
Hôtel de la Cité is perfectly placed for exploration of the region's Cathar castles, the lush vineyards of the Languedoc-Roussillon province and the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!
