Santa Marina Resort & Villas
Why we like it
- Exclusive private sandy beach
- Bayview Restaurant is acclaimed throughout the island
- Just three kilometres from the bars and tavernas of Chora, Mykonos Town
Little ones are very well catered for here, with a Lappset Playground, a supervised Kid’s Club, kids menu and babysitting services.
I am most grateful for your (Nicola Wallington) guide selection. Our guide was knowledgable, patient, polite, considerate, perfect in German and can be highly recommended. It was a stroke of genius on your part to have him with us during the whole trip. We would have been lost without him.

Santa Marina is set in its own little ‘village’ on a private peninsula, overlooking the azure seas of the unspoilt south west coast. The hotel is fresh from a three-year renovation that has seen upgrades to the 100 rooms and suites; the 12 villas are next. Choose from seven room categories – we can confirm that all of them are really rather stunning. Inviting interiors create bijou little sanctuaries and the bathrooms are fabulously outfitted.
The renovation has seen the introduction of the Buddha Bar Beach, a restaurant, bar and entertainment space; the Colonial Pool Restaurant & Bar is good for more casual lunches and snacks. The gym has fabulous views, there’s a tennis court, helipad, children’s play area and a sumptuous spa. Two infinity pools sit on different terraces for lounging and (unlike the rest of Mykonos) there’s plenty of space.
Best time to be there
The mainland and islands are very hot and dry in July and especially August, the preferred travel month for French, Italian and Spanish holiday makers, making conditions busy, hotel availability limited and the beaches crowded. May, June and September are infinitely more comfortable and generally less expensive.
Rhodes, with its refreshing westerly winds and moderate summer heat, makes it the ideal place to travel for a summer holiday or a short break in the spring or Autumn.
