Southernmost of the West Indies' Windward Islands, Grenada is one of the most fertile and beautiful of the Caribbean islands - a Grenada holiday feels like a special privilege. Grenada's interior rises skywards in such a tropical profusion that you would be forgiven for believing the island was larger than it is. The lush green valleys and mountain slopes are volcanic in origin and dense with nutmeg, cacao, cinnamon and ginger plantations, which is why Grenada is often called the "Spice Island". Add to this a profusion of exotic flowers that has led Grenada to be awarded 9 gold medals at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
A holiday to Grenada with Abercrombie & Kent offers the perfect combination of exploration and relaxation.
The Spanish, French and British fought for many years to control the island and the Anglo-French pedigree is captured in the attractive hillside capital of St. George's, with its picturesque houses, quaint streets and colourful harbour - an essential destination for any Grenada holiday. With the tallest palm tree determine the height of any building, on the coast, development on the island has been controlled. Away from St. George's and the beaches, holidays to Grenada offer endless trekking opportunities in the National Parks where tropical eco systems are found.
Grenada is also home to the world's first underwater sculpture gallery. Created by Jason de Caires Taylor, 65 sculptures are displayed on the sea bed and can be seen by divers, snorkellers or from glass-bottom boats. Fishing also plays an important part to the islanders and on the 29th June each year, Fisherman's Birthday is celebrated in Grenada. The heart of the celebrations are held in Gouyave where the fishing boats and nets are blessed in a church service. A series of boat races follow and the day ends in true Caribbean style with a street party. Visit Gouyave on any Friday of the year for a taste of Fish Friday, a celebration every week. Venture into the many spice plantations and Grenada's exquisite chocolate is a must.

AKP's global reach and on-the-ground presence proved to be priceless assets when, in May 2008, Cyclone Nargis devastated Myanmar's Irrawaddy Delta. Our office and teams in Myanmar quickly gathered and delivered essential supplies to affected villages, raising more than $540,000 in contributions for emergency aid. The A&K Myanmar Relief Fund provides support for orphanages and other ongoing needs resulting from the tremendous devastation of Cyclone Nargis.
