THE HOTEL
Set in a secluded bay on the Caribbean island of Grenada, the Calabash Hotel comprises thirty suites arranged in a horseshoe shape around eight acres of lush tropical gardens facing out towards the sea.
Each suite is beautifully decorated, boasting its own balcony or patio, relaxing whirlpool bath and exquisite views of the surroundings. Inside, décor brings together polished stone floors, pure white walls and vibrant colours - provided by soft furnishings and freshly cut flowers. Lovely, clean-lined furniture lends a contemporary feel, whilst the outdoor spaces are cooled by gentle sea-breezes.
British owner Leo Garbutt and General Manager Clive Barnes have built up a loyal and happy team whose service ethic and attention to detail are evident throughout the resort.
All 30 suites are designed in a contemporary style, each leading down to the beach, and complete with air-conditioning (in the bedrooms) and ceiling fans,a whirlpool bath, living area and a patio or balcony where breakfast is served. The Whirlpool suites have king-size beds and several suites have their own private plunge pool. The Thorneycroft Suite, recently upgraded, features a large private pool, lounge and two terraces.
