Radisson Blu 1919
Why we like it
- Lifestyle hotel In the heart of the city offering 4* accommodations blending historic architecture with modern interiors
- Featuring 88 rooms and suites overlooking the city all with complimentary wi-fi
- The Neo Nordic 1919 Restaurant encompasses the contemporary design of the historic hotel, whilst the menu provides a variety of exclusive international flavours, blended with the best raw, local produce
- The trendy 1919 Lounge provides a variety of cocktails
Don't miss trying some of the specialties at the 1919 restaurant, including Arctic Char over catfish cheeks with puréed potatoes, smoked Puffin meat with blueberry sauce and Icelandic Mountain Lamb. Request the Deluxe rooms in the old building with their parquet floors and stucco ceilings, we loved them.
Ben was very friendly and enthusiastic right from the start. He seemed very knowledgeable about Iceland, and suggested a few extra excursions we had not even considered.
- JM, Lonodn

Best time to be there
June to September is a great time to enjoy a mild ocean climate thanks to the Gulf Stream. It is relatively mild in winter and cool in summer but this is when you can enjoy almost 24 hours of daylight. The weather can change several times during the day. In midwinter, whilst there is little daylight, it is one of the best times to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
