The Taj Mahal, one of India's most iconic landmarks stands proud in Agra, its white marble glistening against the blue sky. We prefer to do our sightseeing at the Taj Mahal at sunrise and also at sunset to see the true effect of its magnificence. Stroll the marble pathways and marvel at the symmetry of its architecture. However, there is more to Agra tours than just the Taj Mahal. The Red Fort of Agra is more like a walled city. The former imperial city of the Mughal rulers, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Within its high walls, you will discover palaces and mosques.About 35km from Agra is Fatehpur Sikri. Built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, this red sandstone fort was to become his headquarters until a water shortage meant the he had to return to Agra fort, leaving the fort deserted. Fatehpur Sikri can be visited enroute to or from Jaipur.
