The Gateway Hotel Fatehabad Road
Why we like it
- A great base to explore the city of Agra
- Splendid views of the Taj Mahal
- Fantastic choice of dining available with four different options
- Rejuvenate your body and mind in the spa
- Spectacular outdoor swimming pool, the perfect tonic to escape the heat of the day.
Enjoy breakfast on the Sky Deck, the perfect viewpoint for the ever changing colours of the Taj Mahal.
We had three different guides - they were all exceptionally courteous and helpful. Kapil our guide in Delhi was exceptional with excellent English and great knowledge of just not the places we visited but also of Indian history. He was very happy to fit in with any of our request and occasional changes to our schedules. We would rate him very highly and would request him if we went back to Delhi.

The Taj Gateway Fatehabad Road offers the perfect base to explore Agra and to visit the iconic Taj Mahal. Stay in a selection of rooms and suites, simply decorated we recommended the superior rooms with a Taj View and a splash of Indian colour. Gad is one of the best all day coffee shops in Agra as well as offering a la carte and buffet options at lunch and dinner. Jhankar is a great option to experience true Indian cuisine and can sometimes be accompanied by live dance and music. Saqui is the place to meet before or after dinner for a relaxed drink. The staff at the hotel are gracious and are sure to give you a warm Indian welcome.
Best time to be there
From October to March the weather is refreshingly cool with minimal rainfall in most places. India's main festivals also take place during this time, such as the Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan, the Republic Day of India and Holi, the festival of colours.
