The state of Andhra Pradesh in South West India is home to the 400 year old city of Hyderabad, situated on the banks of the Musi river. Traditionally Hyderabad was an important hub on the trade routes and today maintains its shopping heritage; Laad Bazaar is an fascinating old market, overflowing with jewellery, semi-precious stones, pearls, saris, brocades, traditional Khara dupattas and Kalamkari artwork. In contrast to the traditional bazaars, the city also has several large international and contemporary shopping malls.
