The mighty 15th century Mehrangarh Fort dominates the 'Blue City' of Jodhpur and is one of the largest forts in India. We can arrange a private viewing of Mehrangarh museum which has galleries showcasing treasures from the royal collection. Take time to visit Mandore, the ancient capital of the state of Marwar with its beautiful gardens, temples and memorials. There are a number of small boutique properties in and around Jodhpur however on a more grand scale, the Umaid Bhawan Palace, a golden-yellow sandstone monument, is a lavish hotel with rooms over looking the manicured lawns. Umaid Bhawan is one of the last great palaces of India and is also still home to the current Royal family.  70km from Jodhpur is the ancient village of Osian with its 6th and 8th century temples. The ideal base to explore this village is the Camel Camp where you can take a camel safari into the Thar Desert.

Jodhpur tours with Abercrombie & Kent will provide expert guidance, insight and first-hand experience of this wonderful region.

Guest Testimonial

Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!
