India; 16 Nights


This is an in depth tour of Southern India and takes in the temple cities of Madurai and Mysore, the coastal region of Pondicherry and the beautiful Nagarhole National Park which is home to elephant and tiger.

Day 1 - London/Mumbai
Depart London for your flight to Mumbai.

Day 2 - Mumbai
Arrive Mumbai and transfer to the Taj Mahal Palace and Towers.
    
Day 3 - Mumbai
The morning is at leisure. Perhaps take the short walk to the shops in Colaba. In the afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mumbai.    

Day 4 - Mumbai/Madurai
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Madurai. On arrival, transfer to the Gateway Hotel Pasumalai where you will stay for two nights.       
                         
Day 5 - Madurai
Take a morning city tour including the famous Meenakshi Temple. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6 - Madurai/Thanjavur
Following breakfast, take a morning drive to Thanjavur (158kms) via the ornate Srirangam Temple at Tiruchirapally. Arrive at Thanjavur and transfer to Hotel Ideal River View.

Day 7 - Thanjavur
Following breakfast take a half day city tour. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8 - Thanjavur/Pondicherry
After breakfast, take a full day drive to Pondicherry (230kms/5 hours) where you will check in to the Hotel Del'Orient for two nights.

Day 9 - Pondicherry
After breakfast at the hotel, take a morning city tour of Pondicherry. The afternoon is at leisure.
                        
Day 10 - Pondicherry/Chennai
Following breakfast drive up the coast via Mahabalipuram to Chennai (200kms/5 hours). Accommodation for the next two nights is at the Hotel Taj Coromandel.

Day 11 - Chennai
After breakfast, take a morning city tour of Chennai. The rest of the day is at leisure.
        
Day 12 - Chennai/Bangalore
Following breakfast transfer to the airport where you will fly to Bangalore and transfer to the Hotel Taj Westend. In the afternoon take a city tour of Bangalore.

Day 13 - Bangalore/Nagarhole
Following breakfast drive to Nagarhole (225kms/5 hours). Arrive Nagarhole and transfer to Cicada Kabini Resort for two nights. In the afternoon take a game drive.
   
Day 14 - Nagarhole National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.  Nagarhole National Park is home to deer, hyena, elephant and tiger.

Day 15 - Nagarhole/Mysore

After a morning game drive travel to Mysore (180kms/3 hours) and transfer to The Windflower Spa and Resort for two nights. In the afternoon take a city tour.

Day 16 - Mysore
Take a tour to Srirangapatnam to see the ruins of Tipu Sultan's summer palace. Later visit Somnath and the Keshava Temple.

Day 17 - Mysore/Bangalore
After breakfast transfer to Taj Westend (130kms/3 hours).

Day 18 - Bangalore/London
Depart Bangalore in the early hours for your flight back to London, arriving later the same morning.
